June 18 The club plans a solstice hike at night on Clark’s Traverse (Gastineau-Roberts-Sheep-Clark-Perseverance Trail). Carl is leading a hike on June 18-19 at night. There is close to a full moon and it is three days away from solstice. The sun will set and rise without getting completely dark, especially on a mountain top. The traverse should take about 8 hours. We plan to start in the evening and by done by about 4 AM. Contact Carl by Saturday at 6PM if you are interested. 723-9323

June 22. Rope and rappelling skills practice. Cliffs on Fritz Cove Road. Pete Boyd is leading a practice of rappelling skills including more advanced ways of backing up your rap. You will need a harness and ATC at a minimum. Contact Pete by 7PM June 21st firstname.lastname@example.org . He needs to know in advance how many people are coming. This is weather dependent.

Future Plans. We discussed a trip to Split Thumb this summer, an overnighter to Upper Nugget Basin this summer, an overnighter to Mount Ernest Gruening this summer, and a climbing/ski trip up Mount Wrather next winter. The dates for these have not been set.
