November Calendar 2014

Sunday, November 9, Thunder Mountain. Dani Evenson is leading a climb up Thunder Mountain this Sunday, Oct 9th.  This is a moderate hike.  Bring microspikes and a trekking pole.  This trip will take place unless the weather is really bad as we can turn around if it’s socked in up high. If you are interested contact Dani by 7PM Saturday, Oct 8th. 350-4350

November 19.    Wednesday evening all weather climb. We will meet at 5PM for a strenuous two hour hike in just about any weather. The plan is for this to be pack training so bring an appropriately weighted pack.  Meet at the tables at Foodland at 5PM. We will decide where we want to go that day. Bring a headlamp and look for Dani.

Sunday.  November 23rd.  Mount Jumbo.  the alpine club’s climb up Mount Jumbo is canceled because the trip leader has a sore back and can’t lead the trip.

Monday November 24: Glacier and mountaineering skills practice. This will be indoors. We are meeting at either the Jumbo Gym in Douglas. The cost will be about $6.  This event will happen at 5:30 pm to when ever, rain or shine. Topics vary depending upon the group. Bring any gear you have: harness, rope, carabiners, prussics…NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED.

Contact the trip leader before participating; don’t just show up. Pete needs at least 2 people to confirm they will show up.

Tuesday December 2. Monthly Meeting at the Island Pub. 6:30 PM. We will plan December’s climbs and hikes. All are welcome. Come with ideas or to meet other mountaineering folks. Do a snow dance for a great snow year.
